I'm happy to announce the release of a new duo recording featuring the fantastic harp-guitarist Tony Barnard (who also happens to be my uncle) and me. 'Inventions' is now available on iTunes, Amazon and other online retailers as well as on CD.
I'm happy to announce that I'll be playing with my new UK quartet on Sept 6 at The Vortex Jazz Club, London. It's an exciting gig for me because it's both my first gig as a leader in London as well as the launch gig for this new quartet. We'll be playing two sets of entirely new music and the band will feature the extraordinary talents of Alex Munk (guitar), Henrik Jensen (bass) and Will Glaser (drums).
I've just launched a new project, called 'This Week in the Universe'. It's co-led my brother Beau and I and is heavily influenced by 80s film music and 70s prog rock. It's been heaps of fun and we've just released our debut album and 1st stop motion music video. You can check it all out through the links below.
In August last year, I went on a short Indonesian tour with the Energetic Zen Quartet. It was an all round great time and our performance from Ubud Village Jazz Festival in Bali has just been uploaded to YouTube. Check out the clip below and the Ubud Jazz channel for the full concert.
We have a few new clips up from some gigs in 2016! Check out the YouTube channel or head over to the VIDEOS page.
//Solo piano set - FREE DOWNLOAD!
I recorded a short set of solo piano music at the University of New South Wales a few weeks back. The piano was not as in tune as I would've liked, but I thought it was a nice vibe so I've put it up on Bandcamp as a free download. Enjoy!
Thanks to Ross A'hern and UNSW Creative Practice Lab for their help with this.
//Energetic Zen Quartet - 'VISION IMPACT' Now Available!
I'm really happy to be involved in a new project led by drummer Deva Permana and featuring Hannah James (bass) and Simon Chadwick (saxes). We have some Australian dates coming up in November and January so check out the gigs page for more info.

//New EP and upcoming gigs!
I'm happy to announce that our new trio EP 'Miniature' will be available on July 15! We've spent a lot of time on it and we're excited to finally be able to release it. The EP consists entirely of a single composition of mine. It's our first time working on an extended composition and we think that it has something new to offer. I'll post some samples soon so stay tuned!
We also have a few gigs coming up in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne. Check the gigs page for more info
I was recently interviewed by Broadsheet to talk about the trio and our gig at 505 on December 9, also featuring the amazing Paul Cutlan String Project.
Our last gig for the year will be back at 505 in Sydney on Wednesday 9 December. It's been a great year for us and we're looking forward to ending it on a high note with this show! We'll also be heading into the studio in a few weeks to record a brand new EP. It's scheduled for release mid-2016 so stay tuned for updates!

//'Live at Bennetts Lane' Pre-order!
Our new live album, 'LIVE AT BENNETTS LANE' will be available on June 2! We made this record on tour in Melbourne last year around the same time that we recorded 'OUTLIERS'. We've decided to release it now as we think it shows a different side to us as well as capturing the vibe of a really great gig. The album features all new music except for a new version of 'Paralysed' that also appears on 'OUTLIERS'
Our new album 'Outliers' is now available for download or on CD via Bandcamp, iTunes and Amazon! This is our first album with the long-standing trio line-up of Bill Williams (bass) and Ed Rodrigues (drums/perc) and we're very excited that this music is finally out there. Featuring all original compositions from Golden and original cover art by Ron Frenz (Marvel/DC Comics)
Our new record is ready! 'Outliers' will be available on 20 January 2015 on iTunes, Cdbaby and Bandcamp. We'll be launching the album in Sydney on Thursday 5 February 2015 at Venue 505 and following that up with some more gigs on the East Coast. Details to come.

//Hannah James Trio 'Triliphony' Album Release and Launch!
This coming Thursday (Nov 6), I'll be playing with the Hannah James Trio to launch our new album 'Trilyphony'. We recorded the album live at SIMA earlier this year and we're really pleased with how the album has turned out. This gig is also part of the Sydney International Women's Jazz Festival so it should be a great night.
Foundry 616, Harris St, Ultimo. Thursday 6 November 2014
2014 has been massive for Bill, Ed and I. Besides a lot of playing, we have TWO new albums that will be available in 2015. The studio album 'OUTLIERS', recorded in August and AVAILABLE JANUARY 20, and a live record from a gig at Bennetts Lane in Melbourne in July, recorded by the ABC. The live record has the imaginative title of 'LIVE AT BENNETTS LANE' and will be available mid-year. Both new albums feature cover art by the amazing Ron Frenz (Marvel/DC comics).
There is a track from each album streaming on our Soundcloud and there will be much more coming...
